Description

Eight Champagne Glasses from the Edinburgh & Leith Flint Glass Company.  These glasses provided us with a puzzle for a long time. The honeycomb pattern is synonomous with Baccarat and Val Saint Lambert, but we were sure that these weren’t from those sources. Some detective work by Judith has found that they are by Edinburgh & Leith and based on the same blank as E&L’s famous Lochnagar pattern which dates back to the 1890s. (Lochnagar is also the name of the biggest crater on the Somme).  These are very rare, tall, quite heavy (340g) and extremely handsome champagnes dating from about 1925 and in outstanding condition.
